In the statutes of the Danish Red Cross it states that the organization is apolitical, and as such it would not be consistent having a general secretary who is a member of a political party and running for parliament, and definitely not when said general secretary is elected into parliament. Thus he have to choose, either his political career or a career as a leader of an apolitical relief organization. And he have made the choice, of becoming a politician, and then have the audacity to claim that he was fired from Danish Red Cross – NO WAY… He made himself unsuitable to fill the position that he had, so in effect he quit. But being the greedy bugger that he have shown himself to be , he wanted to be fired, so that he was eligible to receive 2 years salary amounting to DKR 2 million (approx. € 270,000). But of course he denies this, don’t want the public to know, just how greedy and unpleasant he really is, so he states that he wants to have leave of absence without pay and that DRC was unwilling to agree to that the settlement was made.

I have only to say that he shouldn’t get any money from DRC, he left his job to enter a political career, well knowing that it was incompatible with the job at DRC, so he wasn’t fired. And he can’t have a leave of absense, as once he has affiliated himself with party politics he is no longer eligible to re-enter his position when his political career is over. And it just goes to show that he is only after the money, he wants to make sure that he will have a steady income of DKR 1 million per year if he isn’t re-elected, and just doesn’t understand that he is forever tainted and unsuitable for entering any career that demands an apolitical person, which he no longer can claim to be.

So a free piece of advice to Jørgen Poulsen: Shut up and give the money back to DRC, make the best of what remains of your political career, and when that is over find a decent job, write some books or go into retirement, but stop making such an ass out of yourself if that is humanly possible for you!

According to the fron page of Ekstrabladet – Jørgen Poulsen have broken down over the outcry over his greediness, tough luck, when you behave as a cynical greedy bastard, you better be able to take the heat afterwards. In other news the Triumvirate of Ny Alliance have decided that this will not affect his status as a member of Ny Alliance, although two of the leaders have stated that the party didn’t need this kind of attention and privately wished that he had done otherwise… Well, wish on because the reactions of the voters to the sillyness they have been presented with from the party members so far have only secured one thing, and that is that Ny Alliance will not be represented in the parliament after the next election, unless they start acting mature and with a *gasp* policy, instead of bumbling around as the “Big City Idiots” that they have already been labelled. To get rid of that label they need to work hard and show some seriousness… But one can only hope that they will continue to make certain that Ny Alliance will be a short footnote in Danish politics.
